Special metrics on singular spaces

I will take about a few recent results concerning the existence and geometry of certain types of metrics with special curvature properties on stratified spaces. The results range from a Ricci flow approach to constant curvature metrics with conic singularities (joint with Rubinstein and Sesum), to Yamabe metrics on singular spaces (joint with Akutagawa and Carron).
