Front propagation in nonlinear diffusion equations on the hyperbolic space



In this talk I will discuss the front propagation for a certain class of reaction-diffusion equations and systems on the hyperbolic space H^n. More specifically we consider solutions whose intital data are nonnegative and compactly supported, and study how the solution fronts spread over the space, in particular, how the curvature of the space affects the spreading properties of the solution. The talk will be mainly focused on scalar equations, but I will also discuss briefly predator-prey models on such spaces. This is partly joint work with Fabio Punzo and Alberto Tesei.
