Modèles stochastiques de l'expression des gènes
Protein expression is at the basis of physiology of all living cells, allowing cell fate decision, adaptation to food changes, response to stresses, etc.. As shown by Monod and Jacob, protein expression is the result of complex interaction between DNA and macromolecular machinery. More recently, it became clear that protein expression is not entirely deterministic, but it is submitted to random fluctuations. Nowadays, fluctuations in molecular networks can be detected and measured on a relatively large scale. I'll show how mathematical modelling can be used to gain new insights and to help biological experimentation in this field.
