Hopf monoids. An introduction with examples
The notion of Hopf monoid models the manner in which combinatorial structures compose and decompose. This talk will present this notion and illustrate it through a number of examples of combinatorial and geometric flavor. These include the Hopf monoid of faces of the Coxeter complex and the Hopf monoid of generalized permutahedra. We will focus on the antipode problem and its implications (time permitting).
