Prof. Lorenzo Botti is invited to IMAG from 1 to 31 May 2026 as part of the ERC NEMESIS project

My academic activity has been carried out at the University of Bergamo, where I have been employed since 2014: first as a Lecturer, then as an Assistant Professor (from 2019), and most recently as a Full Professor (from 2024). My research focuses on the development, implementation, and validation of non-conforming numerical formulations for solving partial differential equations arising in fluid mechanics and contact mechanics. A key objective of my work is to improve the efficiency and robustness of these computational modelling tools by combining them with effective solution strategies for the large-scale sparse systems generated by spatial and temporal discretizations. This research is further supported by High Performance Computing implementations on parallel architectures, enabling the simulation of complex problems at large scale.
