Andreas Rupp obtained his PhD from the University Erlangen–Nuremberg in May 2019. Since then, he has been a research associate at Heidelberg University (2019-2021), tenure-track assistant professor at Lappeenranta–Lahti University of Technology (LUT, 2021-2023), and Academy of Finland research fellow (2023-2024). Currently, he is a professor at Saarland University and a docent/adjunct professor at Aalto University, LUT, and the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Rwanda.
Andreas Rupp’s mathematical research focuses on non-conforming finite element methods: he develops and analyses efficient solution strategies and stabilizing schemes. He applies these methods to soil science applications, the development of electric engines, and the optimal design of drug capsules.
