Theoretical and numerical analysis of partial differential equations: conception and rigorous analysis of numerical schemes on generic polytopal meshes, for linear and non-linear models. I design analysis techniques that cover a wide range of numerical schemes (low- and high-order methods: finite volume schemes, hybrid high-order methods, discrete complexes, etc.), and enable complete convergence analysis (via error estimates or compactness techniques) for a variety of models, including some encountered in real-world applications.
Various highlights:
I am one of the four PIs of the ERC Synergy project NEMESIS: NEw generation MEthods for numerial SImulationS (2024-2029).
The other PIs are Daniele Di Pietro (U. Montpellier), P. Antonietti (Politecnico di Milano) and L. Beirão da Veiga (U. Milano-Bicocca).
HArD::Core: a C++ library geared towards arbitrary order hybrid schemes (such as the HHO, VEM or DDR methods) on generic polytopal meshes.
Note: a Matlab/Octave implementation of HHO for the Poisson problem is also available (but see the readme file for caveats).
